Self-Employment Program

At Kiran Foundation Trust, we believe that economic independence is the catalyst for real social change. In many rural and tribal regions, women possess incredible dedication and traditional craft knowledge, yet they lack access to structured business training, formal skill development, and financial guidance needed to generate a steady income.

Our Self-Employment Initiative is designed to bridge this gap by delivering targeted, practical training programs directly to rural women—equipping them with market-ready skills to launch their own home-based micro-enterprises and achieve lasting self-reliance.

Our Step-by-Step Empowerment Framework

Our self-employment model goes beyond short-term skill workshops; it guides women through the complete journey of turning a skill into a viable, income-generating business:

  • Basic & Advanced Vocational Training: Conducting hands-on workshops in high-demand trades such as tailoring, eco-crafting, seed jewellery making, sustainable fashion, and food processing using locally available resources.

  • Micro-Business & Entrepreneurship Education: Teaching fundamental business skills—including cost calculation, basic accounting, digital payments, inventory management, and effective product pricing.

  • Self-Help Group (SHG) Integration: Organizing women into collaborative Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to pool resources, foster collective bargaining power, and access micro-credit and government financial schemes.

  • Market Access & Branding Guidance: Connecting rural women entrepreneurs with local markets, exhibitions, and modern distribution channels under our ‘Learn and Earn’ frameworks to ensure fair profit margins for their products.

Transforming Individuals, Uplifting Communities

When a rural woman starts her own enterprise, the impact ripples across her entire family and village. Her earnings go directly toward better nutrition, healthcare, and education for her children, while her success inspires other women to break free from financial dependency.

By turning traditional talents into sustainable livelihoods, our Self-Employment Initiative fosters a culture of female leadership, economic resilience, and rural self-sufficiency.
