Key Pillars & Focus Areas of the Programme

The 4-day intensive workshop combined advanced technical skill training with sustainable craft methodologies and academic partnership:

  • Master Trainer Training: Equipping Sudhasakhi women with advanced tailoring, garment construction, and design skills so they can return to their communities and train other aspiring rural women.

  • Promotion of Sustainable Fashion: Educating participants on eco-friendly textiles, zero-waste crafting techniques, and upcycling natural materials to align with modern green fashion standards.

  • ‘Learn and Earn’ Scheme for Needy Students: Introducing a practical livelihood model that enables young students and women to earn a steady income while continuing their education and skill-building journeys.

  • Institutional Collaboration: Leveraging the design expertise of SOFT Nagpur alongside social development frameworks from Sudhamani Social Foundation and Kiran Foundation Trust to open formal market avenues for rural products.

Driving Sustainable Economic Independence

By equipping tribal women with professional fashion design and crafting techniques, this initiative bridges the gap between rural traditional art and contemporary markets. Empowering women as “Master Trainers” creates a ripple effect—allowing knowledge, skill, and economic opportunity to spread organically across the Pench Tiger Reserve belt.

Kiran Foundation Trust remains committed to creating scalable, dignifying, and sustainable livelihood models for marginalized rural and tribal communities.
