In February 2020, during our field visits in Chamorshi taluka, our team witnessed a deeply moving and heart-warming story of courage, patience, and resilience in the village of Kondevahi.
While interacting with local households, we came across a family facing extraordinary challenges. A young woman in the family was taking care of 6 children—4 of whom are mentally challenged and 2 physically challenged. Facing such immense caregiving responsibilities under difficult economic conditions is a massive hardship, yet her incredible composure, determination, and positive spirit against all odds was truly admirable.

Immediate Relief & Essential Distribution
Recognizing the urgent need for direct intervention and assistance, our Trust stepped in to support the family. To ease their daily burden and provide immediate comfort, we organized an on-ground distribution drive.
During this initiative, our team provided:
Clothing Donation: Supplying essential, comfortable clothing items for all the children to ensure their day-to-day needs were met with dignity.
Direct Family Assistance: Providing immediate relief items to reduce the household’s financial and physical strain.
Emotional Encouragement: Standing beside the family, acknowledging the young woman’s heroic efforts, and reassuring them that they are not alone in their journey.
A Commitment to Ongoing Support
Short-term assistance is only the first step when supporting families with special needs. Moved by the family’s situation, our Trust committed to providing ongoing support to ensure the continuous well-being, care, and nutritional support for the children.
Supporting families with disabled dependents requires sustained community backing. Through this initiative, our goal is to not only deliver essential items but also build a long-term support network that empowers caregivers in remote rural areas.
